The “My Vietnam 2025” race is not simply a large-scale sporting event, but a journey connecting modernity with the nation’s historical roots. Taking place at the Vietnam Exhibition Center and Vinhomes Global Gate – Co Loa urban area (Dong Anh, Hanoi), the race brings 20,000 athletes across legendary landmarks such as Co Loa Communal House, Thuong Temple, Ba Chua Temple, and Ngoc Well – cultural and historical symbols of the ancient capital of Au Lac that are more than 2,000 years old.
This is not only a place to preserve the legends of An Duong Vuong, My Chau - Trong Thuy, but also a testament to the creativity and bravery of the ancient Vietnamese people. The choice of the Vietnam Exhibition Center - one of the 10 largest exhibition complexes in the world - combined with the modern Vinhomes Global Gate, creates an organizing space that is both rich in cultural depth and has a breakthrough development vision.
The race includes 4 distances: 42km (2,500 athletes); 21km (4,000 athletes); 9.2km (4,500 athletes); 2.9km (9,000 athletes), for all subjects from 5-year-old children to professional athletes. This event also kicks off a series of activities to celebrate National Day 2.9, associated with the Exhibition of 80 years of national achievements, gathering a large number of people, tourists and the sports-loving community. The event is jointly organized by Vinhomes Joint Stock Company, Zaha Vietnam, together with the Vietnam Athletics Federation, UNDP and relevant agencies.
With the theme “Fierce Vietnamese Spirit”, the race is a tribute to the generations of fathers who sacrificed for independence and freedom, and an opportunity to look back on the 80-year journey of building and developing the country. Tens of thousands of athletes wearing the red shirt with yellow star will create a vivid symbol of patriotism, aspiration to rise up and the spirit of national solidarity in the integration era.
In addition to its historical significance, the event is also a pioneer in sustainable development with the goal of becoming a zero-emission green race. With the support of UNDP and the National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP), the organizers are committed to minimizing plastic waste, inspiring environmentally friendly lifestyles and working with the community to realize the commitment to net zero emissions before 2050.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Ms. Hoang Hoa Anh Duc - representative of the Vietnam Exhibition Center - emphasized: "In the era of development and integration, the national spirit needs to be further aroused through practical actions. Sports, especially community events such as 'That's my Vietnam', are the bridge between the past - present - future; between physical strength - spirit - will to act".
The organizers also affirmed that they will organize a safe, methodical, professional and experienced race, thereby spreading the message of a healthy lifestyle, connecting the community and taking action for a green and strong Vietnam.
“My Vietnam 2025” is not just a marathon, but a national sports – cultural – environmental event, converging historical values, national spirit and aspirations for sustainable development.
With the participation of tens of thousands of domestic and international athletes, along with the support of prestigious organizations such as UNDP, Vietnam Athletics Federation and professional organizers, the race promises to become a big festival, adding strength to the journey to realize the aspiration of a prosperous, green and eternal Vietnam.
