Leaving Seoul, on the way to Busan, Hieu's group bought KTX train tickets (express train) to Gyeongju and stayed here for one night.
Gyeongju is a city located in Gyeongsangbuk-do County, which was the capital of the Silla Dynasty for nearly 1,000 years (from 57 BC to 935 AD) of Korea. It also preserves many historical, political, cultural, religious and artistic relics recognized by UNESCO as world cultural heritage.
One of them is Bulguksa Temple. The temple has a long history of more than 1,000 years since its construction, and is considered a masterpiece of Korean architecture and art. In 1995, the temple was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage, according to the website of the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam.
A KTX (high-speed train) ticket from Seoul to Gyeongju costs about 50,000 won (about 900,000 VND). Tickets can be booked online or purchased directly at the counter, Mr. Hieu said.
