This place marks the event where the first National Salvation Youth Union in the Army was established at Company 29, Battalion 183, Regiment 246 (now Company 9, Battalion 3, Regiment 246), with the mission of protecting the Party Central Committee, Uncle Ho and the General Command during the resistance war against French colonialism.

Visiting the traditional house of the first National Salvation Youth Union in the Army, delegates and union members and youth (YU) reviewed the glorious history of the Army's youth. Lieutenant La Cong Tai, Political Commissar of Company 11, Battalion 3, Regiment 246, introduced: "The establishment of the first National Salvation Youth Union in the Army is an important milestone marking the formation and development of the Youth Union and youth movement in the Army. Since then, the Youth Union organization, the youth agency system and now the system of departments, offices (assistants) for mass work at all levels up to the Army Youth Committee have continuously developed, grown, and performed well the functions and tasks of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the Vietnam People's Army".

During the meeting with the delegation of the Army Youth Union, officers and members of the 246th Regiment expressed their honor and pride in the history and tradition of the unit. The 246th Regiment is stationed in a mountainous district of Thai Nguyen province, where the population is mainly ethnic minorities. The majority of the Regiment's members are children of ethnic minorities from Cao Bang, Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen provinces, accounting for more than 80% of the military. Promoting the tradition of their revolutionary homeland, this force has always actively participated in activities launched by the Youth Union, making an important contribution to the successful completion of the unit's political tasks. Attending the meeting and hearing about the history and tradition, Private First Class Hoang Quang Vinh, a soldier of Company 2, Battalion 1, Regiment 246, shared: “I feel very honored to work in a unit associated with the glorious history of the Youth Union in the Army. Proud of the tradition, my teammates and I will promote the spirit of initiative, creativity, and determination to excellently complete all assigned tasks.”

The program of marching to the source of the Army youth demonstrates the morality of "drinking water, remembering its source", thereby fostering pride and gratitude towards previous generations. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of the Army Youth Department, said: "Deeply grateful for the great contributions of generations of Army cadres and youth union members who have gone before, cadres and youth union members in the entire army today vow to strive to study, train, and devote themselves to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland".
