At 5:00 p.m. on April 26, 1975, the deployed unit took over the attack position and was ready to receive orders to attack. When the firepower was fired at the targets in the factory area, the enemy was completely surprised and stunned. Taking advantage of the results of the firepower, seizing the opportunity, the attack directions and spearheads moved to approach the targets. At 17:40, the firepower changed direction, and Battalion 8 was ordered to attack.

On the main direction of Company 7, Battalion 8, Platoon 3 and Platoon 2, we attacked the factory and the headquarters of the puppet Battalion 346. After advancing about 400-500m, we suddenly encountered a fairly wide anti-tank trench, and the formation was jammed. At this time, the enemy used firepower to block us, and we could not advance. Observing and grasping the situation, Company 7 Captain Thieu Chi Dinh ordered the DKZ battery and the 12.7mm battery to move closer, fire overwhelming support, then commanded the troops in a rolling formation. The mobile unit and the restraining fire unit, in turn, two comrades lay close to the ground, pulled and released each comrade's hand into the trench, and continued to use hoes and shovels to dig into steps. This comrade pushed the other comrade out of the trench, continuing to attack the water tower position. At 6:30 p.m. the same day, the command post of Battalion 346 and enemy forces in the factory area were destroyed and captured.

After completing the mission on the main direction, Company 7 expanded to the left flank to support Company 5 in attacking the hill area (high point 15). The entire enemy army retreated inside to defend and wait for reinforcements. In that situation, Company 7 left a unit to surround and hold the captured targets and areas, while the majority moved to the right flank to coordinate with the secondary direction of Platoon 1 to attack directly the targets on the left flank of the factory, then pierced straight, cutting off Route 320, not allowing the enemy to retreat to the intersection of Route 25 and to Long Thanh district.

At 7:00 p.m. the same day, Battalion 8 Commander Tran Minh Thiet ordered: Company 7 to hand over the battlefield to Company 5, the entire development along Route 320 to the Route 25 intersection, annihilate all enemy troops and occupy the Route 25 intersection, coordinate combat and protect the attack formation of Regiment 101. Company 5 reorganized the combat formation, took advantage of the bright moonlight, secretly crossed 9 fences. The enemy discovered, detonated mines and used firepower to block, causing 2 comrades to die and 1 comrade to be injured.

While the unit was trying to attack Hill 15, from the North there were many engine sounds and bright headlights. It turned out that this was the leading unit of 4 130mm artillery tractors of Brigade 164 on the way to Cat Lai to build a position, fire to control Tan Son Nhat airport according to the order of the Commander of the 2nd Corps. At this time, the convoy could not continue because there were still enemies ahead, the road was not clear. After consulting, the commanders of the two units decided to turn the artillery vehicles around, the engines were running loudly, the headlights were shining straight at the enemy. Inside the hill, the enemy thought we were attacking with tanks, so they were extremely confused. Seizing the opportunity, we used direct firepower, the enemy was surprised, the whole group gathered in the center. At this time, we had already deployed both infantry and artillery, captured them alive, none of them escaped. Some of them took advantage of fortifications and obstacles, stubbornly resisted and were destroyed. At 9:00 p.m. on April 26, 1975, the entire enemy battalion at Hill 15 and the Rubber Factory was destroyed, captured, and disbanded.
