Born in the context of the country entering the period of innovation, Brigade 680 has the task of mobile combat readiness, together with other forces of the Navy to firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

During the process of construction, development and growth, Brigade 680 has continuously grown, deserving to be the leading unit in training and mastering weapons and equipment... Promoting the glorious tradition of the Coastal Missile Force of the Vietnam People's Navy in the cause of fighting to build and defend the Fatherland, on the path of construction and growth, generations of officers and soldiers of Brigade 680 have always promoted the spirit of self-reliance, proactively overcoming difficulties, and successfully completing all assigned tasks.

Brigade 680 organized a contest for standard, green, clean and beautiful barracks.

In addition to combat training and combat readiness, the Brigade also synchronously deploys tasks, notably promoting internal strength, building a standardized, bright, green, clean, and beautiful unit throughout the Brigade. Promoting the tradition of "Promoting internal strength, proactively coordinating, uniting to win", in recent years, with the support of local Party committees, authorities, and twinned units, Brigade 680 has mobilized the efforts of soldiers to renew, preserve, and repair works, renew the system of wire racks, signs, and boards, and repaint thousands of square meters of works, houses, offices, warehouses, etc.

Along with that, the emulation movement of planting trees, classifying and treating waste has been maintained by the unit with high efficiency, with thousands of newly planted trees; many recycled products from plastic waste such as: bonsai pots, ecological fences, lighting lanterns... were created by the hands of officers and soldiers. In addition, the Brigade promoted mobile repair teams, organized quick and timely repairs to any damage that arose in the unit, and was ready to help agencies and units in the Region when requested.

With appropriate and creative measures and methods, the spirit of overcoming difficulties and high determination, the emulation movement of "building and managing regular, green, clean and beautiful barracks" has become ingrained in the thinking, becoming a specific daily action of each officer and soldier. It is the dedication of the soldiers that has created many initiatives, good models, good practices that are replicated and spread throughout the unit, such as: Multi-purpose lawn mower initiative; industrial cleaning equipment; model of contributing commemorative trees of promoted officers and discharged soldiers every year. From here, many projects have been born, creating green spaces, highlights for the unit's landscape, as places for entertainment, collective activities, welcoming military families, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the soldiers.

To promote internal strength in building discipline, training discipline, and building environmental landscapes, Party committees and commanders at all levels have regularly linked promoting internal strength in building discipline, training discipline with building environmental landscapes in units as a practical measure to improve the material and spiritual life of soldiers.

All of the above contents have been agreed upon and highly determined by the Party Committees and commanders at all levels before being deployed and organized for implementation; the Party Committees and commanders at all levels always dare to think, dare to do and do a good job of setting an example in promoting internal strength to build discipline, train discipline, and build an environmental landscape in the unit; gather a team of professional cadres and soldiers who are dedicated, skilled, and love the unit to set an example for the young cadres and non-commissioned officers and soldiers to follow, making the movement widespread and achieving practical results.

In particular, the Brigade regularly does a good job of praising, rewarding, and encouraging officers and soldiers in promoting internal strength to build discipline, train discipline, build environmental landscapes, and emulation movements to win; promptly commends and rewards collectives and individuals with good achievements. At the same time, it corrects the manifestations of ineffectiveness, causing negative impacts on the implementation of discipline building, discipline training, building environmental landscapes, and emulation movements in the unit.
