When the royal poinciana trees turn crimson, it is also a sign that the school year is about to end and students will enter summer vacation. However, for a long time, children’s summer has not been as complete and colorful as before. Because it has become the “third semester”, or there is a lack of attractive playgrounds.

Children's souls are always filled with emotions, and summer is the place where those emotions are most intense and profound. Writer Nguyen Nhat Anh - a great author of children's stories, once confided: "If I had studied as hard as you do when I was young, I certainly would not have become a writer for children, because when I grew up I would have nothing interesting to tell." The writer also shared that the soul must be cultivated, memories must be nurtured so that he can write such interesting and touching stories about childhood. Thus, generations who have grown up and succeeded have also had memorable summers to nurture their emotional souls.
In fact, summer vacation is the “third semester” for many children, especially in urban areas. The three months of summer are the time when children deserve to enjoy healthy recreational activities, both to relax and to enhance their life experiences. However, due to lack of caretakers or too high expectations for their children, many parents have registered their children to take some extra cultural subjects in the next school year’s program or to learn a foreign language, so the children do not have a proper summer vacation.
Summer is always a memorable time for students. Summer is for resting, relaxing, improving life skills, and absorbing more positive energy. But the reality is that children today lack their own playgrounds. Children's playgrounds are not only public places for children to run, play, etc., but also include many elements to develop children's culture and spirit through entertainment and recreation. For a long time, activities for children in the province have been quite monotonous, some have them, some don't, or they are just like they don't exist because of boredom and lack of attraction, leading to children not feeling interested. To meet the need for summer playgrounds for children, life skills courses, arts, entertainment, and collective activities for children such as summer camps, military semesters, etc. have been formed for several years now. However, the participation time is short and repetitive, so it has not met the wishes and needs of children.
Children have the right to education, but also the right to play and have fun. Another summer is coming, we think that schools and organizations should work together to create more useful summer playgrounds for children, helping them have the opportunity to experience and practice necessary life skills. For parents, give your children a balanced and comfortable learning and playing environment, so that they do not feel pressured or mentally burdened when there is no summer vacation.
