Revealing the performance of 2 teams on the opening night of Da Nang fireworks festival

(NLDO) - On the evening of May 31, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2025 will officially open, opening a brilliant festival season that will last throughout the summer.

With the theme "Cultural Essence", the opening night is an impressive reunion between two fireworks teams from two continents: the host team Da Nang (Vietnam 1) and the reigning champion JoHo Pyro Professional Fireworks AB from Finland. Together, they will write a colorful and emotional opening chapter for a DIFF that is expected to be the most spectacular in history.

Greetings with Vietnamese identity

As the host, the Da Nang International Fireworks Team continues to be the first to "fire" the first shot of this year's DIFF season. Having been involved with the festival for 14 years, the team from the city on the Han River will bring a performance called "Cultural Essence" - a symphony of light and sound elaborately staged to recreate the Vietnamese identity in the journey of 50 years of the city's liberation.

The host team Da Nang will be the one to "open fire" on the opening night of DIFF 2025.

The performance lasted more than 20 minutes, divided into 4 distinct parts, using thousands of fireworks programmed precisely to the second, synchronized with the music melody. The combination of unique national music and familiar international songs not only honored the beauty of Vietnamese culture, but also reflected the spirit of integration and openness of Da Nang - a dynamic city in the "Era of Rising".

Mr. Nghia Hoang - captain of the Da Nang fireworks team shared: "We want to use the language of music and fireworks to introduce to friends around the world a Vietnam that is rich in identity but also modern, ready to connect and develop." More than just a competition, the Da Nang team represents the creative spirit, the desire to rise up and is a cultural symbol of the city - a festival destination, of peace and innovation.

The Northern Lights Return

If the Da Nang team is a story of national pride, JoHo Pyro - the reigning DIFF 2024 champion from Finland - brings a completely different world with a performance called "Nordic Lights". Inspired by the aurora phenomenon in Northern Europe, the Finnish team's performance is an emotional journey through music and light, recreating the ancient life of fishermen living in the harsh but poetic sea.

DIFF 2025 has many new features compared to previous editions.

Set to the Stormskärs Maja theme – a melody associated with the traditional Finnish fishing village, JoHo Pyro creates a fusion of modern pyrotechnics, unique water cannons and a distinct musical taste – from rock to pop. This daring combination helped them win the championship last season and is now expected to continue to create surprises at DIFF 2025.

"This is not just a performance, but a message of fire - where art connects people and opens new beginnings" - representative of JoHo Pyro shared. With burning passion, the Finnish team will bring the breath of Nordic nature to the audience in Da Nang in an unforgettable night.

Blending Asian and European colors

Held at the most brilliant moment of Da Nang's changing seasons, the opening night of DIFF 2025 is the intersection of two Asian and European cultures, between Eastern tradition and Western freedom. Despite differences in culture and performance techniques, both teams share a passion for the art of light, aiming for a message of peace, connection and creativity.

The opening night of DIFF 2025 will be broadcast live on VTV1 at 8:10 p.m. on May 31. The event is organized by the People's Committee of Da Nang City, with the main sponsorship of Sun Group.

In addition to two eye-catching fireworks displays, the audience will also enjoy an art feast with the participation of many famous artists such as Tung Duong, Kieu Anh, Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, Thu Hang... The program is hosted by two MCs Anh Tuan and Luong Thuy Linh, promising to bring many emotions to the audience.

The special feature of this year’s opening ceremony is the first application of augmented reality (AR) technology to the event space. Through the Sun Paradise Land application, audiences can interact with Da Nang cultural icons in a virtual reality space expanding to 600,000m², displayed with 10 million pixels – a groundbreaking and different digital experience never seen before in previous DIFFs.
