On the morning of May 31, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by SJC company at around 115.7 million VND/tael for buying and 118.2 million VND/tael for selling; down 300,000 VND/tael compared to the end of yesterday.
Some other businesses such as PNJ Company and Bao Tin Minh Chau kept the price of SJC gold bars unchanged at around 116 million VND/tael for buying and 118.5 million VND/tael for selling, unchanged from the end of yesterday. These are all businesses on the State Bank's inspection list.
Meanwhile, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold also dropped to 110.5 million VND/tael for buying and 113.5 million VND/tael for selling, down 500,000 VND per tael compared to the end of yesterday.
SJC gold bar and gold ring prices fell again this morning
Domestic gold prices fell in line with world prices. In the international market, gold prices today closed the trading week at 3,290 USD/ounce, down about 30 USD/ounce compared to the previous session. Gold prices broke the psychological mark of 3,300 USD/ounce in the context of the USD index (DXY) rising again to 99.4 points. Investors are waiting for further developments related to the tariff policies of the US and other countries.
Regarding domestic gold prices, the market expects the prices of SJC gold bars and gold rings to decrease more sharply, narrowing the gap with world prices, after a series of new directives on gold market management policies.
On the afternoon of May 30, the State Bank of Vietnam Inspectorate announced 6 conclusions of the inspection of compliance with policies and laws in gold trading activities at 4 gold companies including SJC, PNJ, DOJI , Bao Tin Minh Chau and 2 banks TPBank and Eximbank. The inspection agency made a number of recommendations from the State Bank related to perfecting mechanisms and policies in managing gold trading activities; at the same time, made a number of recommendations to relevant ministries and branches for consideration and handling according to their authority and legal provisions related to shortcomings and violations in the field of state management of ministries and branches.
