On the morning of May 31, Phu Nhuan Jewelry Company (PNJ) officially responded to the conclusion of the inspection of gold trading activities announced by the State Bank of Vietnam Inspectorate.
PNJ said the company always strives to strictly comply with legal regulations in gold and jewelry trading activities. At the same time, PNJ affirms its commitment to transparency, full compliance with accounting, invoice, voucher and tax obligations as prescribed by law.
PNJ representative said that the company acknowledged the shortcomings pointed out in the 2024 inspection and has proactively corrected all of these points, aiming to improve business operations from this year.
"PNJ has also proactively requested the authorities to investigate and clarify the unclear contents in the inspection report. The company is committed to continuing to cooperate professionally and transparently with the authorities to soon clarify related issues" - PNJ representative emphasized.
The company also expressed its hope that gold market management activities will soon be implemented in a stable and sustainable manner, contributing to bringing long-term benefits to consumers and the economy .
PNJ speaks out after the State Bank's gold inspection conclusion
Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, the State Bank of Vietnam Inspectorate has just announced 6 conclusions of the inspection of compliance with policies and laws in gold trading activities at 4 gold companies including SJC, DOJI , PNJ and Bao Tin Minh Chau; 2 commercial banks including Eximbank and TPBank.
At PNJ Company, the inspector discovered that PNJ Company violated the reporting regime on gold bar buying and selling activities; there were signs of providing misleading information about products and goods provided by the enterprise to attract customers of other enterprises, related to unfair competition; there were signs of violating the regulations on product labels for gold jewelry and fine art products;...
The verification results show that there are signs that PNJ Company violated tax laws. The State Bank has sent a document transferring the information to the competent authority for consideration and handling according to regulations.
Regarding compliance with legal regulations on accounting, making and using invoices and vouchers; on declaring and fulfilling tax obligations: PNJ Company violated the regulations on making sales invoices at the wrong time for some invoices; some transactions lacked information or may not have been the customer's ID card/CCCD number information...
