Strange phenomenon appeared in Phu Yen after 46 years

On the afternoon of April 8, Mr. Dang Van Trong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Xuan district ( Phu Yen province) confirmed that a strange phenomenon had occurred in the district when the ground cracked and mud flowed up from cracks in the cassava fields.

The incident happened on the agricultural land of Mr. Nguyen Van Loi (born in 1953, in Tan Vinh village, Xuan Son Nam commune, Dong Xuan district).

According to the People's Committee of Xuan Son Nam commune, the phenomenon of light yellow smooth mud flowing long and wide, the mud overflow location is about 5m2, the depth of the mud overflow location is not yet determined underground, the mud overflow area has many cracks around on the ground.

Dong Xuan district authorities used reflective tape and prohibition signs to surround this dangerous area to prevent curious people from gathering.

Currently, many curious locals come here to see. The Commune People's Committee has used reflective tape and prohibition signs to fence off this dangerous area.

Mr. Dang Van Trong said that through the work of grasping the situation from local people, about 46 years ago, at this location, there was a mudflow like that and a group came to survey but the results are not known.

"We are completing a report on this phenomenon to send to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Yen province, sending forces to find out what this phenomenon is to stabilize people's thinking," Mr. Trong added.
