On May 28, in Hanoi , the book “Cricket Knight” was launched simultaneously with a school project called “Creation with AI”, aiming to spread the spirit of creativity in applying technology to school-age students.

The title of the book easily reminds readers of “The Adventures of Men the Cricket” – a classic children’s story by writer To Hoai. However, author Le Van Thao affirms that “The Knight of Men the Cricket” is a completely new literary story, with more than 200 illustrations created entirely by AI technology.

The story explores another imaginary world , where the main character - a Cricket with a desire to protect justice - is pushed into many unexpected adventures, full of danger but also rich in emotion and poetry.

The story “The Cricket Knight” was written by author Le Van Thao two decades ago. As a work for children, the author wanted to have special illustrations. However, although he has collaborated with many artists, he has not yet found a suitable partner.

When AI was released, author Le Van Thao took the time to embark on a journey of experimentation, learning and working at the same time. After more than 2 months of hard work day and night, the author finally found a capable assistant and completed the illustration for the book “Cricket Knight”.

Author Le Van Thao shared: “As a graphic designer in the publishing industry, I understand that transferring the writer's ideas to the artist's pen is an extremely difficult task. The book may not be completely satisfactory to me and the readers, but I hope that its presence contributes to inspiring creativity for readers of all ages, with the increasingly sophisticated support of AI. Just like I have spent more than 20 years of my life nurturing a project that could be said to be hopeless without AI. I hope that, with the great help of this technology, many manuscripts that are still at the bottom of the box will have the opportunity to be published.”

On this occasion, author Le Van Thao and his colleagues introduced the school project "Creating with AI" designed as an experimental program implemented in a chain of schools.

According to the Organizing Committee, the project aims to help students explore the ability to illustrate with AI, tell stories with images and develop creative thinking suitable for the digital age, thereby approaching the proper and effective use of AI in learning and creativity.

The organizers believe that this is an interdisciplinary educational model, combining literature, fine arts and technology, affirming that AI does not replace creativity but is only a tool to help expand human creativity.
