The Truth National Political Publishing House has just published the book "Hung King Worship Belief in Vietnam", which promises to be a useful reference for researchers, experts or readers who want to learn about Hung King Worship Belief with its unique values, demonstrating the fine traditions and ethics of the Vietnamese people.

According to the Truth National Political Publishing House, Hung King worship is not only a unique form of ancestor worship of the Vietnamese people since ancient times but also a sacred cultural symbol of patriotism and compatriotism, developed and elevated into Vietnamese patriotism and humanism.

Throughout the history of the nation, this belief has held an important position in the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people. Because of these values, on December 6, 2012, the Hung King worship in Phu Tho , Vietnam, was recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Through the ups and downs of history, while other religions and folk beliefs have changed a lot, the Hung King worship with its unique and characteristic values has been preserved, promoted and increasingly spread strongly, becoming a unique cultural identity of the Vietnamese people.

With the tradition and morality of “When drinking water, remember its source”, “When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree”, the Hung Kings and characters related to the Hung King era are always respectfully worshiped by the people of the whole country. Every year, people in the country and the Vietnamese community abroad look forward to the Hung King's death anniversary (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month) and the Hung Temple Festival - the most vivid concrete form of this belief.

Every year, the Hung Kings Temple Historical Relic Site in Viet Tri, Phu Tho welcomes 6-8 million visitors to attend the Festival and visit the Relic Site. This is considered a potential factor to continue exploiting and promoting the cultural values of the Hung Kings Worship Belief and developing tourism, contributing to the overall socio -economic development of the locality.

In order to provide more information about the values and meanings of the Hung King worship belief as well as ways to preserve and promote the unique values of this type of belief, the National Political Publishing House Truth publishes the book Hung King worship belief in Vietnam co-edited by Professor, Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan and Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam.
