Coach Calisto is radiant, the golden generation of Vietnamese football reunites at Thong Nhat Stadium

On the afternoon of September 23, Coach Henrique Calisto reunited with his students from the Vietnam national team that won the AFF Cup 2008, along with former famous players of Vietnamese football such as Nguyen Duc Thang, Pham Minh Duc, Nguyen Viet Thang, Nguyen Hong Son,... at Thong Nhat Stadium.

To prepare for the "Golden Generation" friendly match taking place at 5:00 p.m. on September 24, Coach Calisto and his students had a session to get acquainted with the field, exchange and recall memories of their time in the national team.

The "Golden Generation" friendly match brings together many famous stars of Vietnamese football from the past to the present.

Striker Viet Thang is Mr. Calisto's "favorite student" in the Vietnam national team. Currently, Viet Thang is an assistant to coach Philippe Troussier in the national team.

Mr. Calisto shook hands and was happy to meet his old student again.

Hoang Duc is the current star of the Vietnam national team. The presence of the player born in 1998 in this match is a symbol of the continuation of the generation.

The charity match called "Golden Generation" took place on September 24, gathering more than 50 famous Vietnamese football players of all ages and divided into 2 teams. The Sao Vang team was led by coach Henrique Calisto and coach Phan Thanh Hung led the Rong Vang team.

At Sao Vang team, coach Calisto will lead famous names of the past such as Le Huynh Duc, Nguyen Hong Son, goalkeeper Duong Hong Son, Nguyen Minh Phuong, Le Cong Vinh... along with many stars of the current Vietnam team such as Que Ngoc Hai, Nguyen Tien Linh, Nguyen Quang Hai, Vu Van Thanh.

On the Golden Dragon team side, coach Phan Thanh Hung has in his hands former famous players such as Vu Nhu Thanh, Van Sy Hung, Nguyen Van Sy, Truong Viet Hoang, Nguyen Anh Duc, Nguyen Trong Hoang, Thach Bao Khanh, Pham Van Quyen... and 2 current Vietnamese players, Nguyen Hoang Duc and Nguyen Van Quyet.
