Indochina College of Fine Arts celebrates its 100th anniversary

On November 15, 2025, the Vietnam University of Fine Arts - formerly the Indochina University of Fine Arts - founded by French painter Victor Tardieu in 1925, will hold a ceremony to celebrate its 100th anniversary, marking an important historical milestone in the journey of training, creating and spreading Vietnamese fine arts on the world art map.

On this occasion, the school organizes a series of exhibitions: Exhibition of 100+ displaying typical specialized articles of students (from October 31 to November 15 at the Museum of Vietnam University of Fine Arts (42 Yet Kieu, Hanoi ); Exhibition of 100 years of modern Vietnamese fine arts - collection of Vietnam University of Fine Arts and Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts (from November 14 to 24 at Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts - 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc); International Exhibition of Vietnam University of Fine Arts and friends (from November 14 to 24 at Art Space of Vietnam University of Fine Arts - 42 Yet Kieu).

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of its founding, the entire space of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts will be opened for the public and art lovers to have the opportunity to explore.

Within the framework of the series of commemorative events, there will also be a ceremony to receive certificates of merit from the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the launch of the publication 100-year Imprint and the screening of the documentary film Vietnam University of Fine Arts - 100-year Journey ... The series of events will have the presence of the granddaughter of French painter Victor Tardieu, Mrs. Alix Turolla Tardieu and her son Giacomo, and Mr. Arnaullt Fontani - great-grandson of sculptor Evariste Jonchere (who was the Principal of the Indochina School of Fine Arts from 1938 to 1945), along with senior leaders, lecturers, students and alumni of the school.
