The 100th anniversary of the Indochina Fine Arts School (Vietnam University of Fine Arts) will take place on November 15 in Hanoi . In particular, Ms. Alix Turolla Tardieu (92 years old) - granddaughter of Principal Victor Tardier, founder and first principal of the Indochina Fine Arts School, and her son Giacomo Tardieu will come from Italy to Vietnam.
Also attending were Mr. Arnault Fontani, great-grandson of sculptor Evariste Jonchere, the second principal of the school, and leaders of central agencies, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

At the ceremony, the Vietnam University of Fine Arts will receive the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister and the Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for its outstanding achievements in training, research and creation. The school will also launch the publication “100-year Mark - Indochina College of Fine Arts - Vietnam University of Fine Arts” and release the documentary film Vietnam University of Fine Arts - 100-year Journey .
On this occasion, the school organized 3 large-scale exhibitions to mark 100 years of formation and development:
100+ (from October 31 to November 15 at the Museum of Vietnam University of Fine Arts) displays typical specialized works by students of the Faculty of Painting, including 3 majors: lacquer, oil painting and silk - affirming the current training quality of the school.
100 Years of Modern Vietnamese Fine Arts (November 14-24 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum) introduces 150 paintings, statues, and reliefs from the collection of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, with contributions from the A&V Foundation and the family of artist Ngo Manh Lan. The exhibition recreates the 100-year journey of fine arts training - where generations of teachers and students from the Indochina University of Fine Arts to the Vietnam University of Fine Arts converge, together creating the melody of colors and shapes in a creative spirit imbued with national identity.

The International Exhibition of Vietnam University of Fine Arts and Friends (November 14-24 at Art Space, 42 Yet Kieu) introduces 94 latest works by lecturers of Vietnam University of Fine Arts and art schools in the GoA9 network - a group of art schools in Asia.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Nghia Phuong, Vice Rector of Vietnam University of Fine Arts, said that with 100 years of establishment and development, the school has always steadfastly pursued the philosophy of liberal education, valuing individual creativity on the basis of basic, serious and scientific training.
He emphasized that the bond between teachers and students - Yet Kieu style - is the soul of the school, and the three core values of Identity - Creativity - Humanity are the foundation for Vietnam University of Fine Arts to constantly innovate, expand training and affirm its position as the leading fine arts training center in the country and the region.
