Associate Professor, Doctor, painter Nguyen Nghia Phuong, representative of the school, said that a group of grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the principals and teachers of the Indochina School of Fine Arts will come from Europe to Vietnam to attend the 100th anniversary celebration of the Indochina School of Fine Arts - Vietnam University of Fine Arts, which will take place on the morning of November 15 at the school (42 Yet Kieu, Hanoi ).
In addition to Mr. Victor Tardieu's granddaughter - Mrs. Alix Turolla Tardieu accompanied by her son Giacomo Tardieu, there was also Mr. Arnaullt Fontani - great-grandson of sculptor Evariste Jonchere - second principal of the Indochina College of Fine Arts.
Mr. Phuong said that Mrs. Alix Turolla Tardieu, like the descendants of Victor Tardieu, did not pursue painting, but she greatly appreciated the special celebration of the century-long anniversary of the school her grandfather founded.
She also appreciates the way the Vietnam University of Fine Arts has continued to preserve the legacy her grandfather built.
So despite her old age and poor health, and having to use a wheelchair, she still took the long flight from Italy to Vietnam to attend the school's 100th anniversary celebration and the first Victor Tardieu award ceremony.
The school currently has about 700 students. Each year the school enrolls no more than 130 students. But usually only about 120 students are selected.

The exhibition introduces 150 paintings, statues, and reliefs from the collection of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, with contributions from the A&V Foundation and the family of artist Ngo Manh Lan.
