This is the first time a film screening event of this scale has been organized in a special location rich in revolutionary historical value, aiming to bring high-quality cinema closer to cadres, soldiers and people.

On this occasion, two outstanding feature films of 2025, Red Rain by Army Cinema, directed by Dang Thai Huyen and Tunnels: Sun in the Dark by director Bui Thac Chuyen, will be screened for free.
Both works exploit historical themes, recreating the indomitable fighting spirit and paying tribute to the sacrifices of previous generations. Showing films with great imprints on war and patriotism right in Con Dao, a place marked by the struggle for national liberation, creates a profound meaning, evoking strong emotions for viewers.

The screenings will be held at the Hall of the Con Dao Culture - Information - Sports and Tourism Center on November 14 and 15, 2025.
Audiences will be able to enjoy the movie Red Rain on November 14 with three shows: 9am, 3pm and 7pm. The movie Tunnels: Sun in the Dark will be shown on November 15 with two shows at 3pm and 7pm.
In particular, the screening on the evening of November 15 will feature a live exchange program between director Bui Thac Chuyen and the people of Con Dao Special Zone, promising to bring many interesting behind-the-scenes stories and artistic perspectives.
The Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City said that through this activity, the cultural sector hopes to bring quality cinematographic works to more localities, especially those that still have difficulty accessing artistic activities. At the same time, the program also opens up opportunities for cooperation and development between cultural and artistic units, contributing to strongly spreading the brand "UNESCO Cinema City" that Ho Chi Minh City is honored to be recognized.
