After the second loss in the new V-League season, coach Le Quang Trai praised the opponent but also expressed regret because Hoang Anh Gia Lai 's efforts to earn points on the opponent's field failed.
Hoang Anh Gia Lai (middle) still hasn't won after 3 rounds
Hoang Anh Gia Lai is missing many key players so they do not have the strongest starting lineup to face HCM City Police Club. Mr. Trai said that many players have not had time to recover after two intense matches against strong teams.
Coach Hoang Anh Gia Lai commented that the home team is a cohesive group and the players on the field all know how to coordinate and support each other in order to operate the tactics built by the coaching staff.
"I don't think Hoang Anh Gia Lai's performance depends on foreign players. On the field, all 11 positions are important, have separate tasks and all aim to help the team achieve the best results," Mr. Trai added.
Hoang Anh Gia Lai needs to improve to soon regain top form
In addition, coach Quang Trai also expressed his anger when asked about the internal conflict within the team during the match. Before that, the match progress showed that goalkeeper Trung Kien and defenders Jairo, Quang Kiet, Anh Tai... continuously exchanged and reminded each other after conceding a goal in the 42nd minute.
He analyzed: "In football matches, players and coaching staff need to always remind and advise each other to complete their roles and tasks. In a bustling atmosphere like Thong Nhat Stadium, they need to increase the volume to be able to communicate with each other more clearly. This is a familiar image in professional playgrounds and there is no such thing as HAGL players "speaking loudly" or losing unity during matches."
Commenting on his student who was called up to the Vietnam national team, coach Le Quang Trai assessed: "Dinh Quang Kiet was identified as a player with great potential last season, so we need to be patient and create maximum playing opportunities for him. Through the 3 matches he has played, Quang Kiet has shown progress compared to last season. Hopefully in the coming time, Kiet will develop and contribute a lot to HAGL as well as the national team."
The 48-year-old strategist also affirmed that the whole team needs to practice harder and be more determined when competing to improve their performance and achieve better results in the remaining journey of the tournament, thereby completing the set goals.
