According to Tuoi Tre Online , naturalized striker Nguyen Xuan Son was called up by coach Kim Sang Sik to the Vietnam national team in November to prepare for the match against Laos in the second leg of the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
Along with Nguyen Xuan Son, defenders Nguyen Van Vi and Dang Van Toi of Nam Dinh Club were also called up. The team from the city of Nam Dinh agreed to let Xuan Son join the national team, because this naturalized striker has almost completely recovered from his injury.
It is not clear whether Xuan Son will be able to play in the match against Laos, but most likely, coach Kim Sang Sik and the medical team will evaluate Son's physical condition during the national team training session.
Although he has recovered, Xuan Son will have to wait until January next year to be able to play in V-League 2025 - 2026 according to registration regulations.
The Vietnamese team will gather from November 10 in Hanoi , then go to Phu Tho for training from November 11 to November 14.
On November 15, the team will travel to Laos to compete. Coach Kim Sang Sik will directly lead the team in this match.
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will announce the full squad list in the next few days. It is likely that naturalized player Do Hoang Hen will also be on the list, although he is not yet eligible to play officially according to FIFA regulations.
