At the press conference ahead of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship (ASEAN Women's Cup 2025) taking place on the afternoon of August 5 in Hai Phong City, coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed that the Vietnamese women's team will compete with the highest determination and respect all opponents in Group A.
"We thank the ASEAN Football Federation and the Vietnam Football Federation for organizing this tournament. This is a valuable opportunity for football teams in the region to train and prepare for the upcoming SEA Games.
Not only Thailand or the Philippines, teams like Cambodia or Indonesia have also made significant progress. Through recent friendly matches, it can be seen that they have all prepared very carefully" - Mr. Chung shared.

The captain of the Vietnamese women's team emphasized: "Playing at home is an advantage but also a pressure. Hopefully, with the support of Hai Phong fans as well as fans nationwide, we will make history."
Meanwhile, captain Huynh Nhu said the whole team is determined to play their best to win the championship: "We want to dedicate beautiful matches to the audience and hope to make history right at home."
On the Cambodian side, coach Koji Gyotoku, who has only been in charge for 10 days, affirmed that despite facing many difficulties, the team still aims to win 3 points in the opening match.
"This is my first time leading a women's team, but the players all showed great spirit. We will compete with all our abilities," said Mr. Gyotoku.
The opening match of the 2025 ASEAN Women's Cup of Vietnam will take place tomorrow, August 6, at 7:30 p.m.
