With only 9 days left, the registration period for the 2023 National First Division will begin. In that context, Bui Ngoc Long's departure from Hoa Binh Club is a surprise. The U23 Vietnam player and the Northwestern team did not reach an agreement on signing a contract.
Bui Ngoc Long has been training with Hoa Binh Club for the past 2 months. He is highly regarded in terms of skills but has not been able to reach a consensus with the club during negotiations.
Bui Ngoc Long was called up to the U23 Vietnam team by coach Troussier but could not stay after phase 1.
The deadline for registering players for the National Cup ends on May 17, and for the National First Division on March 23. Currently, most clubs in the First Division have completed their squads, so finding a new destination for Ngoc Long at this time is relatively difficult.
Bui Ngoc Long was once considered a potential player of Vietnamese football. He grew up from Viettel football center, then went to Than Quang Ninh from 2019 and was promoted to the first team in the 2021 V.League season.
After the Mining team stopped operating, Ngoc Long joined Saigon FC. In 2022, he went to Japan to play for Azul Claro Numazu in J.League 3 on loan for a short time. This is a contract within the cooperation program between Saigon FC and its partner in Japan.
Bad luck continued to haunt Ngoc Long when Saigon FC stopped operating at the end of the 2023 season. Ngoc Long once again fell into unemployment. It was thought that this player born in 2001 would have a favorable step forward when he was summoned by Coach Troussier to join U23 Vietnam, and was highly appreciated by Hoa Binh Club after a 2-month trial. However, after only 1 week, he was eliminated from U23 Vietnam, the contract signing with Hoa Binh fell through, Ngoc Long once again faced an uncertain future.
