Dai Lai Lake is a large artificial lake. During flood season, water from the streams rushed in like waterfalls and receded very quickly, washing away fertile alluvium, making the fields barren.

Therefore, the Ministry of Irrigation surveyed and built a reservoir to irrigate the fields. This project started in 1959 and was completed in 1963, mainly by the labor of soldiers, people, cadres, workers, and civil servants inside and outside Vinh Phuc province.

After completion, the lake has a water surface area of ​​525 hectares, with a capacity of 26.4 million cubic meters of water. The Dai Lai Lake project brings economic, social, agricultural and forestry benefits, serving irrigation for about 2,900 hectares - 3,500 hectares of cultivated land, and is a project of great significance to people's lives.

To the north of the lake is the majestic Tam Dao range, surrounding the lake are hills and mountains connected by solid dams creating strong water retaining walls. Tourists can take a boat ride on the lake to admire the diverse landscapes.

Here, the average temperature in summer is 28.9 degrees Celsius and in winter is 16.8 degrees Celsius, very convenient for weekend vacations without fear of weather effects.
