Support businesses participating in implementing rice export contracts to Senegal

(CT) - Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No. 2060/UBND-KT, dated October 29, 2025, to the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, on supporting rice exporting enterprises in Can Tho City to participate in rice export contracts to Senegal.

Accordingly, within the framework of the visit of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to Senegal from July 22 to 24, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade signed a Memorandum of Understanding on rice trade with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Senegal. According to the Memorandum, depending on production and market conditions, international prices at the time of the transaction, the Vietnamese side agreed to promote the export of 100,000 tons of rice to Senegal each year. Realizing that rice export businesses in the city are capable of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two countries, the People's Committee of Can Tho City proposed the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to consider supporting and creating conditions for rice export businesses in the city to participate in the implementation of rice export contracts to the Senegal market. The People's Committee of Can Tho City will accompany businesses, committed to ensuring compliance with the regulations of the host country and handing over rice on time to the Senegalese partner.
