Support farmers in applying digital technology to agricultural production

(DN) - On the morning of October 26, the Farmers' Association of Dong Nai province organized a workshop on applying digital technology to agricultural production. Attending were leaders of departments, branches, wards, communes and many businesses, cooperatives and farmers in the province.

In recent times, the agricultural and environmental sectors have applied digital transformation in State management such as: 100% of documents, work records, and administrative procedures are processed and stored in the electronic environment; completing key databases (data on crop cultivation, land, environment, water resources, forest monitoring, crop maps; integrating industry data onto the province's common data platform; applying IoT (Internet of Things) in monitoring pests, early warning of forest fires, weather and natural disaster forecasting).

In addition, the industry also has many applications of artificial intelligence in analyzing and forecasting the quality of the environment, water resources, soil and air; implementing projects on digital maps of growing areas, tracing the origin of agricultural products, supporting the management of clean, safe and transparent agricultural value chains; incorporating digital transformation content into training programs for cadres, civil servants and public employees; expanding cooperation with institutes, schools and technology enterprises, mobilizing socialized resources in developing infrastructure, data and digital transformation solutions.

In the period of 2025-2026, the Department of Agriculture and Environment also set out key tasks such as: Completing investment in information technology infrastructure for the agricultural and environmental sectors. Building a database for the crop and environmental sectors; deploying crop maps and mobile applications for data lookup.

Set up a camera system to detect forest fires early, an automatic pest monitoring station and a smart environmental warning system. Apply AI to analyze environmental monitoring data and provide early warning of pollution in key areas. Bring all public services in the agricultural sector to the full scale.

The workshop attracted many discussions from cooperatives and farmers, focusing on the following contents: Supporting in-depth training for cooperatives and farmers on livestreaming to sell agricultural products on e-commerce platforms; organizing the provision of mechanization services, especially high technology for farmers; having policies to support cooperatives and farmers in purchasing machinery on installment; having policies for farmers to access investment capital to develop production...

Mr. Nguyen Huu Nguyen, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Dong Nai province, said: The workshop aims to effectively deploy the application of digital technology in agricultural production. In the coming time, the Farmers' Association system of communes and wards will continue to promote propaganda and spread effective digital technology application models introduced at the workshop to good farming households, businesses, cooperatives and cooperatives in the area. Associations at all levels promote activities for cadres, members and core farmers to participate in learning and exchanging experiences.

On this occasion, the Dong Nai Farmers' Association and FPT Polytechnic College signed a cooperation agreement to support training and improve digital skills for members and farmers; support consulting and deploying digital transformation solutions in production; coordinate promotion and trade promotion for OCOP products and key agricultural products of the province.
