Support the implementation of effective and sustainable interventions to prevent child drowning by 2025

On May 10, 2024, in Decision No. 1228/QD-UBND, the Provincial People's Committee approved the project aid "Support for the implementation of effective and sustainable interventions to prevent and combat child drowning" in Quang Binh province sponsored by CTFK (USA). The project will be implemented in Bo Trach and Tuyen Hoa districts, for 2 years (2024, 2025).

The project aims to raise awareness of the burden of drowning and effective interventions for local authorities and residents; effectively implement safe swimming interventions for children aged 6-15. In 2024, the project taught 108 swimming classes, with a total of 2,160 children. In 2025, the project will teach 63 swimming classes with a total of 1,260 children.

Delegates listened to an overview report on the program to prevent drowning in children.

At the meeting of the coordination committee at all levels and instructions for project implementation in 2025, delegates heard an overview report on the child drowning prevention program; instructions on project progress reporting; instructions on the financial reporting framework; instructions on periodic assessment forms; financial management and forms.
