According to residents and health officials, the incident occurred late Wednesday night (March 13). At this time, many Palestinians were gathered at the Kuwait intersection roundabout north of Gaza City waiting to receive aid when Israeli forces suddenly opened fire.

In the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian health officials said eight people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Thursday that targeted an aid distribution center. In the city of Deir Al-Balah, also in central Gaza, an Israeli missile hit a house, killing nine people.
Residents said Israeli air and ground bombardment continued overnight across Gaza, including the southern city of Rafah - where more than a million displaced people have taken shelter.
Israeli military strikes on the Gaza Strip have killed 69 Palestinians and wounded 110 in the past 24 hours, Gaza health authorities said on Thursday.
Earlier on February 29, Palestinian health authorities said Israeli forces shot dead more than 100 Palestinians as they waited for aid near Gaza City. Meanwhile, Israel said the victims died in a stampede or were run over by trucks.
The conflict in Gaza has displaced much of the region’s 2.3 million people. Scenes of chaos or deadly incidents during aid distribution are common as starving residents scramble for food.
