Complete installation of 168 girders of 14 spans of Thong Nhat Bridge in August 2025

(DN) - On July 25, Mr. Nguyen Linh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the construction and installation of girders of the Thong Nhat Bridge spans under the Bien Hoa City Central Axis Road Project is expected to be completed in August 2025.

After completing the bridge girder construction, contractors will pour the bridge deck and complete other items.

According to Mr. Tran Hoang Nam, Director of the Project Management Board (under Mekong Construction Investment Joint Stock Company No. 1), for the entire Thong Nhat Bridge project, contractors will have to install 168 girders of 14 bridge spans. Currently, contractors have completed the installation of girders of 9 bridge spans. The remaining bridge spans will have their girders installed in August 2025.

Regarding the completion of all construction items of Thong Nhat Bridge, Mr. Tran Hoang Nam said that after completing the construction of the girder, the bridge deck will be poured. The completion of the entire Thong Nhat Bridge depends on the progress of the site handover, because currently, the construction site of the bridge approach road has not been fully handed over.

The Bien Hoa City Central Road Construction Investment Project is over 5.4 km long, starting at the intersection with Vo Thi Sau Street and ending at the intersection with Dang Van Tron Street (at the An Hao Bridge intersection). The project has a total investment of about 1.5 trillion VND. Of which, package 11 - construction of Thong Nhat Bridge, access roads at both ends of the bridge and ensuring road traffic safety during the project construction process is worth over 479 billion VND.

According to the design, Thong Nhat Bridge has a scale of 6-10 lanes, a width of 45-95m, a length of about 765m, of which the main bridge is 559m long. The project was started in early 2023, however, the construction progress has been continuously delayed due to problems in site clearance.
