Competing in the -50kg Point Fighting category, Thuy Giang completely dominated her Myanmar opponent, finishing the final match with a score of 12-2.

From the very first minutes, she proactively controlled the match with her fast-paced, agile fighting style, intelligent movement, and accurate scoring ability – the outstanding strengths of the female fighter from Dong Nai .

This victory is the result of meticulous preparation and relentless effort. Before the 33rd SEA Games in April 2025, Thuy Giang made a big splash by winning two gold medals at the Kickboxing World Cup in Thailand, affirming her international class.

Sharing her feelings after the match, Thuy Giang said emotionally: "This gold medal is not just mine, but also belongs to my teammates and Vietnamese kickboxing. I also want to dedicate this victory to Coach Lam Nguyen Trieu Sa and my hometown. During the preparation process, I suffered an ankle injury, but I always strived to overcome it to bring glory to my country."

Head coach of the kickboxing team, Lam Nguyen Trieu Sa, said: "This is a difficult SEA Games, but the whole team is determined to do their best. Thuy Giang's ankle injury has been treated in conjunction with adjustments to the training plan so that she can complete her task. I am very proud of the efforts and courage of the athletes."

Hoang Thi Thuy Giang's gold medal not only enhanced the overall performance of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games, but also served as vivid proof of the perseverance, courage, and aspiration to conquer the highest peaks of Vietnamese kickboxing fighters.
