VietNamNetVietNamNet14/09/2023

On the morning of September 14, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tai, Deputy Director of Lang Son Customs Department, told the Government Electronic Newspaper that agricultural export activities at border gates were still taking place normally, without congestion. Traffic volume may have decreased slightly because in Lang Son, the weather in the past few days has been very heavy and continuous rain.

Customs clearance efficiency is about 1,230 vehicles/day. Of which, 439 vehicles are exported (376 fruit export vehicles), 791 vehicles are imported (including 780 cargo vehicles, 11 new vehicles).

At 8:00 p.m. on September 12, at the border gates in Lang Son province, the total number of vehicles waiting for export was 874 (an increase of 101 vehicles compared to the previous day), including 473 fruit vehicles (a decrease of 64 vehicles compared to the previous day), 131 vehicles of other goods and 270 vehicles outside the border gate area with unidentified goods.

The total number of new cargo vehicles from the inland in the past 24 hours is 540. Most of them are trucks carrying fresh fruit.

According to information from the representative of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province, on September 13, at Kim Thanh border gate, there were 377 vehicles clearing customs, of which, 89 were Vietnamese export vehicles with the main cleared goods being peeled wood, durian (34 vehicles), rambutan (2 vehicles), dragon fruit (12 vehicles)...

The vehicles from China were 288, with the main cleared goods being flowers, fresh vegetables, coke, and fertilizer.

At Lao Cai international railway station border gate, there is 1 departure train and 1 arrival train, with 124 tons of sulfur in transit.

Thus, the authorities at the border gates of Lang Son and Lao Cai provinces are still carrying out procedures to export normal goods, especially fresh fruits from Vietnam.

Currently, China is still the largest customer for consuming Vietnamese fruits and vegetables.

In the past 8 months alone, this country has spent 2.26 billion USD to buy Vietnamese fruits and vegetables, accounting for 63.6% of the total export turnover of the country's fruit and vegetable industry. With the figure of 2.26 billion USD, fruit and vegetable exports to the Chinese market also set a record compared to the same period in previous years.

Speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen - General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association - assessed that this year's strong growth in fruit and vegetable export turnover is largely due to the explosion of orders in the Chinese market.

This year, China reopened after the Zero Covid policy. Agricultural exports to this market were favorable, orders poured in. In particular, our country's durian was officially exported to this country, promoting a breakthrough growth in the fruit and vegetable industry.

It is estimated that in the past 8 months, durian exports reached nearly 1.3 billion USD, of which exports to the Chinese market accounted for about 90% of the total turnover of this fruit in our country.

In addition, China also increased its purchases of other fruits such as bananas, jackfruit, dragon fruit, watermelon...

Rice export prices plummet, Vietnamese enterprises still win large contracts at high prices . Vietnam's rice export prices fell sharply on September 13. Domestic rice trading activities are bustling again, with domestic enterprises winning bids for 50,000 tons of rice from Indonesia at a price of 640-650 USD/ton.
