Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City has 97,940 candidates registered for the high school graduation exam. Of these, the number of students choosing the English exam accounts for 50.37% with 49,328 students, accounting for the highest percentage.

After English, the percentage of students choosing other elective subjects is: Physics with 43,176 students (44.08%), Chemistry: 27,796 students (28.38%).

The lowest are 2 subjects: agricultural technology with 213 students and industrial technology with 109 students.

Also according to the Department of Education and Training of the City, regarding the issue of taking exams according to two programs (2006 General Education Program and 2018 Program), the Department has conducted consulting work to ensure the rights of candidates as follows:

+ For candidates who have not graduated from high school, the Department of Education and Training gives priority to candidates who register under the 2006 General Education Program.

+ For independent candidates who have graduated from high school in Ho Chi Minh City and have a current residence according to VNEID in Ho Chi Minh City, they will be given the opportunity to choose a program that suits their needs. However, candidates need to research information about the combination of subjects that the university uses the results from the General Education Program (2018 or 2006) and take responsibility for their own choice.

+ For independent candidates who have graduated in other provinces, the Department of Education and Training encourages candidates to take the exam according to the new program, and at the same time provides information about the differences between the two programs.
