Rach Mieu 2 Bridge progress reaches over 86% of plan

On May 18, Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board, said that up to now, the overall progress of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Investment Project (connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces) has reached more than 86%, exceeding the general progress by more than 2% compared to the plan; the main bridge - Rach Mieu 2 Bridge in particular is exceeding the progress by more than 8%.

The main bridge section - Rach Mieu 2 bridge is 8% ahead of schedule.

Accordingly, the construction section is 100% complete on the entire 14km route length. Currently, the construction unit is unloading, spreading asphalt concrete... and will complete the entire route on the Ben Tre side, the road leading to Rach Mieu 2 bridge before June 30.

The bridge section on the route has completed 4/6 bridges (Xoai Hot bridge, My Tho bridge, Tam Son bridge and Ba Lai bridge), the remaining 2 bridges are under construction (Rach Mieu 2 main bridge and Song Ma bridge), in which Song Ma bridge will be completed before June.

As for the main bridge - Rach Mieu 2 bridge, the finishing items are being constructed such as: guardrail, median strip, lighting, bridge deck expansion joints...

The construction of the approach road of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project is 100% complete on the entire length of 14/14km. Currently, the construction unit is unloading and spreading asphalt concrete.

Currently, at the construction site, the units continue to maintain the implementation of 3 shifts, 4 teams (with 30 construction teams; about 150 construction equipment; 500 workers and 83 technical staff). All are determined to complete the project as directed by the Prime Minister .

Mr. Tran Van Thi informed that, following the Prime Minister's instructions, with the spirit of "promised is done, committed is done". Recently, My Thuan Project Management Board together with all construction units and supervision consultants have strictly followed the Prime Minister's instructions to organize construction in "3 shifts and 4 teams", "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain", at the same time, organized and launched the emulation movement "75 days and nights to speed up the progress of completing the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project" to further speed up the progress, towards completing the project according to the Prime Minister's opinion.

Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project has a total length of more than 17.6km, with the starting point connecting Dong Tam intersection (intersection between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870) in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province; the end point connecting Km16+660 National Highway 60, in Ben Tre city, Ben Tre province, about 0.71km from Ham Luong bridge, started construction in March 2022.
