Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway

For the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway (comprising 4 lanes for traffic and 2 emergency stopping lanes), Lane 1 (the lane next to the median): prohibits trucks with a total weight exceeding 7.5 tons; specialized trucks (except armored cash transport vehicles); specialized vehicles; tractor-trailers; vehicles towing trailers; and passenger buses with more than 29 seats. Vehicles permitted in Lane 1 must comply with the maximum speed limit of 100km/h and a minimum speed limit of 80km/h (the minimum speed limit has been increased from 60 to 80km/h). Lane 2 (the lane next to the emergency stopping lane): no distinction by vehicle type, must comply with the maximum speed limit of 100km/h and a minimum speed limit of 60km/h (the minimum speed limit remains unchanged).

For the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, the Vietnam Road Administration has added the following: trucks with a total weight exceeding 7.5 tons and passenger buses with more than 29 seats are prohibited from traveling in lane 1. Vehicles permitted to travel in lane 1 must comply with the maximum speed limit of 120 km/h and the minimum speed limit of 80 km/h. Lane 2 is not differentiated by vehicle type, but must comply with the maximum speed limit of 120 km/h and the minimum speed limit of 60 km/h.

For these two expressways, the Vietnam Road Administration also stipulates that vehicles traveling in lane 2, if they need to overtake other vehicles traveling in the same direction, are allowed to switch to lane 1 to overtake, and then switch back to lane 2 to continue their journey.

According to the decision of the Vietnam Road Administration, the pilot traffic management plan will be implemented for one month, starting from October 27th. Ten days before the end of the pilot traffic management plan's validity period, Road Management Area IV is responsible for finalizing a new traffic management plan to replace the aforementioned pilot plan.
