Currently, in many coffee-growing regions of Lam Dong province, coffee flowers have bloomed, covering the gardens in white even though the harvest season is not yet over.
Normally, the rainy season in the Central Highlands ends at the end of November each year, creating favorable conditions for coffee harvesting. However, this year the weather has been unusual, with rain lasting into early December, causing many coffee plantations to flower before the previous harvest could be completed.

In Bao Lam 1 commune, an area with high altitude and a cool climate, locals say that while early coffee flowering is not uncommon, this year's is the earliest in many years.
This year there has been a lot of rain, and because this area is high-altitude, the coffee plants have started flowering before the harvest is complete. If there are no more heavy rains in the coming days, this phenomenon will not significantly affect the yield of the next crop.

However, the mid-season flowering of the coffee plants has caused considerable difficulties for growers. Throughout Bao Lam commune, farmers are taking advantage of the rare sunny days to harvest and dry coffee. But when the coffee plants flower, many households are forced to temporarily stop harvesting to protect the flowers and avoid affecting the next growth cycle.

When coffee plants are flowering, we have to stop harvesting and let the flowers dry out before we resume, because harvesting them immediately will ruin them.
Mr. Quách Thanh Tùng, a farmer from Bảo Lâm 1 commune, Lâm Đồng province.
According to experienced coffee growers, the phenomenon of early coffee flowering this year is widespread in Bao Lam 1, Bao Lam 2, and Bao Lam 3 communes due to unusual weather changes. Meanwhile, areas such as Di Linh and Lam Ha also have coffee flowers, but they are only sporadically blooming, not as profusely as in Bao Lam.

Ms. Le Thi Thuy Van, a coffee trader in the area, said: "Previously, coffee prices were high, so people were very happy and invested more in cultivation. Currently, prices have decreased compared to before, but overall they are still at a fairly good level, and the quality of coffee this year is also good."
Although coffee plants flower early, many farmers believe that if the weather is favorable, it will not affect the yield and harvesting can be done early in the following season.
