The road opened to traffic on December 19th.
According to the Management Board of the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Border Gate Expressway Project, this expressway is expected to officially open to traffic on December 19th. This is an important transportation infrastructure project with a total investment of over 11,000 billion VND and a length of 60km.
To ensure progress, thousands of engineers and workers are working urgently on the construction site. Contractors have mobilized approximately 2,800 personnel and 1,230 pieces of equipment, deploying 138 construction teams simultaneously.
Efforts to complete construction at a faster pace.
Construction activity is intensifying, especially with favorable dry weather conditions. Units have organized continuous work in a 3-shift, 4-team model to accelerate the completion of the final items. According to the People's Army Newspaper, the project's value has reached 3,942/4,572 billion VND, equivalent to over 86% of the required output for opening the route.

The project commenced on April 21, 2024, and passes through 11 communes and wards in Lang Son province. Currently, the construction units are focusing on completing the final stages to ensure the road is opened on schedule.

Strategic transportation corridor
The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Expressway is considered the first segment of the Eastern North-South Expressway, the longest road in Vietnam with a total length of over 2,000km. The completion of the project will contribute to creating a seamless expressway axis from Lang Son to Ca Mau .

This road plays a strategic role in directly connecting to the Huu Nghi border gate, facilitating the flow of goods across the Vietnam-China border. At the same time, the project is expected to strongly promote socio -economic development in the northern border regions.
