In recent times, the Department of Industry and Trade has implemented many trade promotion activities to support enterprises, production establishments (CSSX) and cooperatives (HTX) to promote and seek markets. In particular, organizing fairs and supporting participation in fairs is one of the activities that not only contributes to promoting Vietnamese goods in general, goods in the province in particular, but also helps consumers choose many high-quality products.
In recent years, the Department of Industry and Trade as well as other departments, branches, and localities have paid great attention to supporting enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments to participate in fairs and exhibitions to seek markets, joint ventures, and production and product consumption. Many enterprises, cooperatives, and OCOP entities have promoted and expanded their product consumption markets and signed high-value economic contracts.
Particularly since the beginning of the year, the Department of Industry and Trade has supported enterprises, cooperatives, production establishments, and OCOP entities of the province to display and introduce goods at the Dong Nai Industry and Trade Fair in 2023 and the Mekong Delta - An Giang Industry and Trade Fair in 2023; Implementing policies to support enterprises to participate in the Thai Nguyen Industry and Trade Fair - OCOP in 2023. Recently, the Department has supported 12 enterprises, cooperatives, production establishments, and OCOP entities to participate in displaying and exhibiting typical products and OCOP products of the province in Ho Chi Minh City. The Department has also supported enterprises, production establishments, and OCOP entities to participate in the Trade Promotion Fair of OCOP products and regional specialties of Bac Lieu taking place from August 1 to 9 in Bac Lieu City.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy - owner of Thanh Thuy dried fish factory (Dong Hai district), said: “Previously, we mainly produced a few items such as: dried fish, dried goby fish, dried shrimp, and fermented shrimp. After participating in fairs in and outside the province, I grasped the needs and tastes of consumers, and from there produced more shrimp rolls, spring rolls, and sour fish sauce... The products are of high quality and ensure food hygiene and safety, so each fair not only helps me increase revenue, but also connects and approaches many new customers.”
Through activities supporting enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments participating in the fair, the units have the opportunity to survey the consumer needs of the people, search for markets, expand the product consumption network and cooperate in developing production and business. This is also an opportunity to build a culture of consuming Vietnamese goods, connecting enterprises with the domestic market, promoting the production and trading of goods that suit consumers' tastes, have competitive prices compared to foreign goods, contributing to eliminating fake, counterfeit and poor quality goods on the market.
