On November 16, the Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training held a meeting to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024), summarize the association's work and celebrate the longevity of members in 2024.
In 2024, the Standing Committee of the Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training focused on consolidating and building 29 affiliated branches with 1,392 members. The Association organized and implemented 5 full-term activity programs and focused on directing the branches to gradually carry out the work, achieving many remarkable results.
The Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Association of Former Teachers to 3 outstanding groups.
The Association has actively built strong associations and branches, promoted and mobilized retired cadres, employees and workers in units under the Ministry to join the association. Up to now, most of the retired workers working at the Ministry of Education and Training and agencies under the Ministry have joined the association. In 2024, the association will consolidate 02 branches and develop 14 new members.
The Association and its branches have actively cared for the spiritual and material life and policies of its members. In 2024, under the direction of the Association, the branches have regularly helped members and workers in the industry spiritually and materially, so that no member in difficulty is left behind when they are old and weak.
The Association has also directed its branches to mobilize retired teachers who are still healthy to contribute their intelligence and experience to the implementation of fundamental and comprehensive reformof education and training. The Association of Former Teachers has organized to collect opinions from its branches on the content of the summary of 10 years of implementing Resolution 29, the draft Law on Teachers and policies and guidelines on education and training.
The branches have actively participated in social activities, promoting the role of teachers, intellectuals, and the elderly in residential areas and in political , socio-political, and professional organizations. Currently, 100% of the branches have members participating in political, socio-political, and professional organizations in residential areas.
The Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Association of Former Teachers to 25 outstanding individuals.
The Association has strengthened inspection and self-inspection, exchanged operational experiences and innovated activities to suit the characteristics of each branch. In 2024, the Inspection Committee changed the inspection form, guided the branches to self-inspecte and proposed directions for activities during the year, and reported to the Association.
Sharing at the meeting, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Former Teachers, President of the Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training Dang Huynh Mai said: The past 42 years have been the continuation of many generations of teachers and managers who have joined hands and hearts to carry out the noble mission of the country's education and training. The nation's tradition of respecting teachers and valuing education and the implementation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the education sector continues to affirm the great contributions of generations of teachers in our country's education system, meeting the increasing needs of the people.
From their silent contributions, many exemplary teachers, former officials, and former teachers have been continuously awarded noble titles. “Even though we have retired, we teachers are always happy people with activities not only in the past, but also with great enthusiasm for the development of education and training in the present and the future,” Ms. Dang Huynh Mai shared.
On this occasion, the Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Association of Former Teachers to 3 groups and 25 individuals; and awarded Certificates of Merit from the Association of Former Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training to 8 groups and 53 individuals with outstanding achievements and contributions during their participation in the association's activities.
