The Association of Retired Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training summarizes its work in 2024.

On November 16th, the Association of Retired Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training held a meeting to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024), summarize the association's work, and celebrate the birthdays of its members in 2024.

In 2024, the Standing Committee of the Association of Retired Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training focused on consolidating and building 29 affiliated branches with 1392 members. The Association organized and implemented 5 comprehensive activity programs and focused on directing the branches to gradually carry out their work, achieving many noteworthy results.

The Association of Retired Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Commendation from the Vietnam Association of Retired Teachers to 3 outstanding collectives.

The association has actively built strong branches and chapters, and has propagated and encouraged retired officials, employees, and workers in units under and directly affiliated with the Ministry to join the association. To date, most retired workers from the Ministry of Education and Training and its affiliated agencies have joined the association. In 2024, the association strengthened two branches and gained 14 new members.

The association and its branches have actively cared for the spiritual and material well-being and welfare of its members. In 2024, under the direction of the association, the branches regularly provided spiritual and material support to members and workers in the industry, ensuring that no member facing extreme difficulties would be left behind due to old age and declining health.

The Association also directed its branches to encourage retired teachers who are still healthy to contribute their intellect and experience to the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training. The Association of Retired Teachers organized consultations with its branches on the content of the 10-year review of Resolution 29, the draft Law on Teachers, and other policies and guidelines on education and training.

The branches have actively participated in social activities, promoting the role of teachers, intellectuals, and the elderly in residential areas and in political , socio-political, and professional organizations. Currently, 100% of the branches have members participating in political, socio-political, and professional organizations in their residential areas.

The Association of Retired Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Association of Retired Teachers to 25 outstanding individuals.

The association has strengthened its inspection and self-inspection work, exchanged operational experiences, and innovated activities to suit the specific characteristics of each branch. In 2024, the Inspection Committee changed the inspection format, guided branches to conduct self-inspections, and set out operational directions for the year, reporting to the association.

Speaking at the gathering, the Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Retired Teachers and President of the Association of Retired Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training, Dang Huynh Mai, stated: The past 42 years have been a continuation of many generations of teachers and administrators who have worked together wholeheartedly to fulfill the noble mission of national education and training. The nation's tradition of respecting teachers and valuing education, along with the implementation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the education sector, continues to affirm the immense contributions of generations of teachers in our education system, meeting the ever-increasing needs of the people.

Through their quiet dedication, many exemplary teachers, former officials, and former educators have continuously been awarded prestigious titles. "Even after retirement, we teachers remain happy individuals with activities not only from the past, but also with a deep commitment to the development of education and training in the present and future," shared Ms. Dang Huynh Mai.

On this occasion, the Association of Retired Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Association of Retired Teachers to 3 collectives and 25 individuals; and presented Certificates of Commendation from the Association of Retired Teachers of the Ministry of Education and Training to 8 collectives and 53 individuals for their outstanding achievements and contributions during their participation in the association's activities.
