With the treatment method using traditional medicine, the physicians and pharmacists at the District Oriental Medicine Association not only have solid professional qualifications and rich experience but are also always dedicated and devoted to the sick. The Association regularly propagates and educates cadres and members to comply with all policies and guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State; promotes patriotic emulation movements, builds and replicates advanced models, sets good examples of good people and good deeds, honors doctors and pharmacists who are good at their profession and have good medical ethics, and together with the district health sector, successfully completes the task of providing primary health care for the people. The quality of treatment of patients using traditional medicine methods of the facilities is increasingly improved, creating trust among the people. Many typical physicians, with bright medical ethics and skills such as physicians: La Xuan Ngoan, Doan Duc Thien, Nguyen Van Han, Nguyen Van Cong... During his career, physician La Xuan Ngoan of Phu Hung commune always improves his knowledge, with the desire to contribute to Oriental medicine, using his talent and virtue to treat many patients worthy of Uncle Ho's teaching "A physician must be like a mother". As a general practitioner, Mr. Ngoan's strength is treating bone and joint diseases, sciatica; diseases of the digestive tract such as stomach pain, colon pain... On average, each year, his medical facility receives nearly 1,000 patients. Mr. Ngoan said that bone and joint diseases are common diseases, often occurring in the elderly, people who often have to do heavy labor or people with strokes, bone and joint injuries... In addition to traditional medicine, he is diligently searching for medicines and herbs to treat each disease, each patient in a flexible way to improve treatment effectiveness. With the desire to continue the family tradition, he always cared for, taught and instructed his children about the profession of Oriental medicine. His two sons have continued the family tradition. With his enthusiasm and dedication to the profession, in 2019, he was awarded the title of "Outstanding Oriental Medicine Practitioner" by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Oriental Medicine Association for his achievements in inheriting, preserving and developing Oriental medicine, oriental medicine, and promoting the use of Vietnamese traditional medicine and traditional medicine.
For General Practitioner Doan Duc Thien, Yen Nhan commune, he has nearly 30 years of experience in the profession. Every day, he examines and treats about 20 patients, mainly using self-made herbal remedies and pills. Although busy with work, he always tries to learn, constantly improve and research new remedies to bring the best treatment results to patients. He shared: "The more I learn, the more I see the beauty and value of Oriental medicine and I realize that I need to learn more to be able to treat many people". Any patient who comes to him is enthusiastically consulted and encouraged to feel secure and persevere in treatment. Patients who come to him for examination and treatment are given detailed and specific instructions on how to prepare medicine, when to take medicine, and what foods and drinks to avoid when taking medicine. For those who cannot afford medical examination and treatment, he is always ready to tell them effective, low-cost folk remedies for home treatment. For him, the greatest joy is seeing patients recover, seeing smiles and hope in the eyes of each patient.
Physician Nguyen Van Cong in Yen Tho commune is Vice Chairman of the District Oriental Medicine Association, a traditional medicine practitioner famous for his method of treating broken bones with traditional Vietnamese medicinal leaves and traditional medicine. This method helps patients reduce swelling, reduce inflammation, regulate and clear blood circulation. In addition, the traditional medicine bundle for treating broken bones does not cause heaviness, itching or discomfort in hot weather. Thanks to that, patients feel comfortable, limiting the impact on walking and movement. On average, he examines and treats about 25 patients per day.
In 2024, the Traditional Medicine Association of Y Yen district examined and treated over 31,000 people; performed acupuncture and acupressure for 9,000 cases and set fractures for 4,200 cases; implanted threads into acupuncture points for 500 patients. Of which, the rate of stable treatment reached 60%, 20% improved, 15% were transferred to other facilities and 5% were advised not to use drugs; the entire district Association did not have any traditional medicine officials or members who violated the law on private medical and pharmaceutical practice. Not only fulfilling its professional duties well, the Association also actively participates in social activities such as organizing free medical examinations and treatment for people in difficult circumstances, lonely elderly people, etc.
Promoting the achieved results, the District Oriental Medicine Association continues to organize well the work of medical examination and treatment, inheriting good medicines, precious medicinal plants of highly skilled physicians, people with effective traditional medicine recipes in villages and hamlets. Diversifying types of services in the field of oriental medicine, oriental medicine, expanding links and cooperation between public traditional medicine examination and treatment facilities and non-public oriental medicine facilities. In addition, organizing seminars, presenting patient records, summarizing practical experiences, promoting scientific research, propaganda, dissemination, combining oriental medicine with western medicine, gradually socializing people's health care with oriental medicine.
