The event attracted the participation of UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam Jonathan Wallace Baker, representatives of Central and local Departments, Ministries, and agencies, along with many domestic and international cultural experts.
This is an important forum for managers and researchers to discuss, evaluate the current situation and propose solutions to promote Vietnam's cultural integration in the context of increasingly deep globalization.
In his opening speech, Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh emphasized the important role of culture in the integration process, not only as an endogenous source of strength for sustainable development but also as a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and the world .
He affirmed that Vietnam, with more than 4,000 years of history, has accumulated and promoted unique cultural values, and at the same time made important contributions to human culture.
The Deputy Minister also mentioned the country's achievements in the integration process, especially Vietnam being among the 40 largest economies in the world and in the top 20 countries in terms of trade and foreign investment attraction. With open diplomatic relations with 193 United Nations member countries and strategic partnerships with many major powers, Vietnam is gradually asserting its position in the international arena.
According to Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Phuong Hoa, the project "Internationalization of Vietnamese culture and Vietnamization of international culture" aims to enhance the position of Vietnamese culture in the world, turning culture into an endogenous strength to promote rapid and sustainable development.
Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Phuong Hoa reported at the Workshop.
The project also aims to create world-class works of art, develop globally competitive cultural products, and make Vietnam an attractive destination for large-scale cultural and artistic events.
Within the framework of the workshop, experts discussed in depth the opportunities and challenges of Vietnam in international cultural integration, shared international experiences and proposed specific tasks to effectively implement the Project.
These contributions will be an important basis for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to perfect its cultural integration strategy, bring Vietnamese culture to the world and effectively absorb the quintessence of human culture.
