The Prime Minister respectfully bowed in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh - the national liberation hero, cultural figure of Vietnam - the founder of Vietnam's revolutionary press, and on behalf of the Party and State leadership, extended his best wishes to veteran journalists, generations of journalists, and those working in the field of journalism throughout the country, as well as to the award-winning authors.

The Prime Minister emphasized that, starting from Thanh Nien Newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, throughout its 100-year history, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has continuously developed and grown stronger, affirming its role as a sharp and important political, cultural, and ideological weapon, with the principle of serving the Fatherland and the People, for the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, making great contributions to the struggle for national independence and freedom, national reunification, and the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

According to the Prime Minister, under any conditions or circumstances – whether in the harsh forced labor camps of imperialism and colonialism, in the difficult and arduous revolutionary war zones, or on the fierce battlefields, during the most challenging times of the reform, integration, and prevention of epidemics, natural disasters, and floods – the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has always affirmed the truth, justice, and correct policies and guidelines of the Party, State, and People of Vietnam.

The Prime Minister emphasized that in making history over the glorious 100 years, journalists have always deeply understood, remembered, and followed the profound teachings of beloved President Ho Chi Minh: "Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. The pen and paper are their sharp weapons" and "Your pens are also sharp weapons in the cause of upholding justice and eliminating evil."

Expressing his emotion and gratitude for the heroic sacrifices of hundreds of journalists in the struggles for national independence, reunification, and the country's progress towards socialism, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that in the current process of national renewal, construction, development, and defense, revolutionary journalism continues to affirm its core role in disseminating and promoting the implementation of the Party's platform, guidelines, and policies, as well as the State's laws and regulations; it serves as a bridge between the Party, the State, and the people; and it contributes to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership, direction, management, and administration at all levels, sectors, and localities.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the press plays a leading role in providing accurate, timely, and critical information, guiding public opinion, and creating social consensus; contributing to the firm consolidation of national unity and the people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the State.

The press actively and proactively contributes to protecting the Party's ideological foundation, combating and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints; and preventing and combating corruption, negative phenomena, and waste. The press widely disseminates humanistic values, compassion, goals, ideals, aspirations, and dreams, with many exemplary and advanced role models, contributing to raising public awareness, forming correct viewpoints, values, and good standards, presenting a vivid and profound image of Vietnam and its people, and contributing to enhancing our country's position and prestige in the international arena.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that journalists and media agencies will continue to strive, determined to innovate, adapt, and overcome challenges, producing more journalistic works imbued with the tears and breath of life, and continuing to spread their influence. He affirmed that the Party, the State, the Government, and the Prime Minister always understand and direct relevant agencies to focus on researching, reviewing, and developing appropriate mechanisms, policies, and solutions to promote the development of revolutionary journalism, making it stronger, more complete, and better serving the revolutionary cause of the Party, the State, and the People.

"This is a responsibility, a mandate of the times, the voice of the heart, of conscience and the dignity of the Vietnamese people towards the team of revolutionary journalists," the Prime Minister stated clearly.

The head of the government emphasized that each media agency and each journalist needs to be aware of their lofty responsibility. Building on the glorious 100-year tradition, revolutionary journalism must always be a truthful and objective voice, reflecting the multifaceted, comprehensive, and all-encompassing flow of life; an effective bridge between the Party, the State, and the People; courageously fighting against evil and negativity, while simultaneously encouraging and spreading exemplary figures, good deeds, and profound humanistic values in society.

Revolutionary journalism must be at the forefront of grasping and applying modern technology to enhance communication effectiveness; proactively embrace digital transformation, develop multimedia journalism, and maximize the power of the internet, social media, and digital technology to deliver information to the public as quickly and effectively as possible, contributing to building a healthy, humane media ecosystem that serves the people.

Revolutionary journalism must be an open, receptive, and attentive forum for the people to express their thoughts and aspirations, participate in social monitoring and criticism, so that the voice of the people is heard and absorbed, contributing to building a clean and strong political system, creating social consensus, and strengthening people's trust.
