Recently, at the events: The 2nd Asian Film Festival - Da Nang; Vietnam Cinema Tourism Promotion Program in the United States; Busan International Film Festival 2024, Ninh Binh province has made impressive introductions to domestic and international filmmakers and is researching and developing policies to attract investors and directors to Ninh Binh, to seek creative inspiration, produce films and cultural and artistic programs.
With the desire to build and produce films in Ninh Binh, BHD Company came up with the idea of building the film "Ho Linh Trang Si", adapted based on folk legends about the tomb of King Dinh Tien Hoang and planned to choose Ninh Binh as the filming location.
However, to successfully produce a film, many factors and conditions are needed, including the costumes in the film. Due to the long time, the historical sources and materials on costumes and ancient costumes of the Dinh Dynasty are very limited. Therefore, at the Scientific Seminar and Exhibition "Costume and Ancient Costumes of the Dinh Dynasty" today, Ninh Binh Province and BHD Company hope to listen to experts, historians, and researchers discuss, analyze, and clarify some issues on costumes and ancient costumes of the Dinh Dynasty, as well as applications in the design and production of costumes and ancient costumes in the 10th century for research and application in modern cultural activities, including films, performing arts, and other art forms; Provide and supplement documents to have a more comprehensive, detailed and specific view of all aspects of life, cultural and social activities of our country in the 10th century, contributing to continuing to preserve and promote the cultural and historical values of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu.

The workshop provided many perspectives from historical, cultural and practical applications in cinematography. The presentations and discussions of the delegates contributed to clarifying the characteristics of Dinh Dynasty costumes - a dynasty of great significance in the history of the nation. At the same time, the contributions also pointed out the challenges and solutions in the restoration and design of costumes to be authentic, suitable for the historical context but still ensuring aesthetics and artistic effectiveness in films.
Researching and restoring Dinh Dynasty costumes to put into films not only aims to recreate history but also helps preserve and spread traditional cultural values, arousing national pride in the public, especially the young generation.
The contributions at the Workshop are important for the preservation of national cultural values and for future film projects, helping to improve the quality of historical representation on screen, avoiding regrettable mistakes and contributing to creating authentic works of art with lasting value.
Ninh Binh province will continue to accompany researchers and film production units in preserving and promoting historical and cultural values through cinematography, especially films about Ninh Binh land and people.
