Tourism Professional Competition 2023

On the morning of July 7, 2023 at Hoang Anh Gia Lai Hotel, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired and coordinated with Gia Lai Tourism Association and Gia Lai College to organize the 2023 Tourism Professional Competition with the participation of nearly 50 delegates, including 34 candidates from 1-4 star hotels and homestays in the province.
This is a practical event, celebrating the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Tourism Industry (July 9, 1960 - July 9, 2023), creating opportunities for tourism workers to practice tourism skills, exchange and learn from each other, and at the same time creating motivation to improve the quality of tourism services in the province. At the same time, update information on the development of local tourism for businesses. Thereby, tourism workers can support information for tourists, improve service quality and promote local tourism.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoang - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized the role of high-quality tourism human resources in tourism development today. The industry always strives to accompany and support businesses in training, raising awareness and tourism skills to gradually improve the quality of local services. Previously, to support accommodation establishments lacking specialized workers after the Covid-19 pandemic, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a training course on improving service quality in accommodation establishments from June 22-23, 2023, creating conditions for direct workers at accommodation establishments to consolidate their skills and confidently participate in the "Tourism Professional Competition 2023".

At the end of the competition, Hoang Anh Gia Lai Hotel won 3 first prizes in housekeeping, reception and hotel management, 01 third prize in restaurant services, 02 consolation prizes in housekeeping and reception services; Thien Duong Xanh restaurant won 01 first prize, 01 second prize in restaurant services, 01 third prize in hotel management services; Pleiku Hotel won 01 second prize in reception services, 04 consolation prizes in housekeeping, restaurant and hotel management services; Pleiku&Em Hotel won 02 second prizes in housekeeping and hotel management services; Khanh Linh Hotel won 02 third prizes in housekeeping and reception services; Hoai Thuong Hotel won 01 consolation prize in hotel management services; Tien Son Pleiku homestay won 01 consolation prize in reception services. The contest ended with much joy and excitement from the contestants and partly encouraged businesses to pay more attention to training to increasingly improve the quality of services at the unit./.
