More than 100 businesses attend export promotion conference

On the morning of April 25, the Department of Industry and Trade of Khanh Hoa province coordinated with the Trade Promotion Agency and the Department of Foreign Market Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to organize a conference to disseminate, orient and deploy solutions to support businesses in promoting exports. Khanh Hoa province is the first locality in the country to organize a program to support businesses in the context of the US announcing high tariffs on imported goods from Vietnam.

Attending the conference were Mr. Le Huu Hoang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Vu Ba Phu - Director of the Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade ; representatives of departments and branches of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces and more than 100 enterprises operating in business, export, logistics, seaport services, banking, e-commerce in the province.

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Huu Hoang said that although the United States has temporarily suspended the imposition of tariffs for 90 days, the province is still proactively implementing response solutions, supporting businesses to diversify markets, strengthen trade connections and coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to forecast and warn of risks due to trade defense investigations... The conference is an important opportunity for businesses and management agencies to find effective directions and flexibly adapt to new challenges in export activities.

Conference overview.

At the conference, delegates were updated on the new US tax policy affecting Vietnamese goods, the province's trade promotion orientation and solutions for applying the B2B digital exhibition platform. Enterprises also shared difficulties in export activities, especially after the US announced a 46% tax on Vietnamese goods.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in the first 4 months of 2025, the province's export turnover is estimated at 866.6 million USD, reaching 39.4% of the yearly plan, up 24% over the same period last year; imports reached nearly 453.9 million USD, reaching 30.88% of the yearly plan, up 15.9%. Key export items include: Seafood, ships, means of transport, wood, coffee, textiles, etc. Of which, the US market accounts for 13.37% of the total export turnover in 2024, reaching 273.5 million USD. In the first quarter of 2025, exports to this market reached 53.9 million USD.
