More than 100 Vietnamese businesses bring goods to Thailand to find ways to enter modern retail channels.

Event   This year's "Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand 2023" takes place from August 16 to 20 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the theme The Magical Taste of Vietnam - Southern Flavors.

Accordingly, the event, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with Central Retail Group in Vietnam, this year marks the first time promoting culture, tourism and introducing outstanding products from the provinces of the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City, combined with displaying and introducing OCOP products from other provinces and cities.

The program aims to open up business opportunities for nearly 100 Vietnamese enterprises to participate in trade connections with retail distribution systems in Thailand, meeting directly with entrepreneurs and customers to seek opportunities for trade and investment cooperation.

According to Mr. Olivier Langlet - General Director of Central Retail Group in Vietnam, the Southern region of Vietnam has abundant raw materials, as well as the world's leading export processing capacity, while Ho Chi Minh City is the economic locomotive of the country. This is the strength to create a difference for export goods.

Many leaders of localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Lieu , Dong Thap... also went to Thailand to attend the event to find outlets for local products.

On August 17, within the framework of the week, the workshop "Connecting supply and demand between Vietnamese and Thai enterprises" took place, bringing many expectations for Vietnamese goods.

Mr. Paul Le - Vice President of Central Retail Group in Vietnam - said that this year, the packaging and designs of Vietnamese products are more eye-catching than in previous years and have a good grasp of international tastes. This is an opportunity for businesses to listen directly to feedback from consumers and import partners in Thailand. Based on that, Vietnamese businesses can re-adjust their products to successfully export to the Thai market through modern retail channels.

Up to now, through promotion campaigns, Vietnamese enterprises have been able to export stably to the supermarket chain of Central Group Thailand, such as King Coffee instant coffee, Mr. Viet coffee, Trung Nguyen coffee, Bibica snacks, Acecook instant noodles, Vifon instant pho, Hai Binh wood-roasted cashew nuts, Daiviet instant porridge or Viet Pepper pepper...

Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of Thailand - shared: "Thailand and Vietnam are two countries with close and strong relations in ASEAN, by setting a target of bringing bilateral trade turnover to at least 25 billion USD by 2025".

Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in the ASEAN region. While Vietnam is Thailand's fifth most important trading partner and the second largest in the ASEAN region.
