More than 17,000 candidates registered for the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University of Education

The total number of candidates registered for this year's exam is 17,439. Of which, Math is the subject with the most registered candidates with 13,182 candidates. Next is Literature with 11,914 candidates; English 9,186 candidates; Physics 5,295 candidates; History 4,887 candidates; Geography 4,566 candidates; Chemistry 4,302 candidates and Biology 845 candidates. On average, each candidate registered for 3.1 exams.

Candidates taking the exam at the following locations: Hanoi University of Education 7,585 candidates; University of Commerce 2,028 candidates; University of Industry 2,981 candidates; Academy of Journalism and Communication 1,985 candidates; Vinh University 1,641 candidates; Quy Nhon University 584 candidates and University of Education (University of Da Nang) 635 candidates.

Candidates are high school students in grade 12 or have graduated from high school (or equivalent) who want to take the competency assessment test to use the results in university admission. To take the test, candidates need to have valid documents and pay the full exam fee as prescribed. In addition, candidates must also ensure their health, not be prosecuted for criminal liability and not be banned from taking the test as prescribed by law.

Candidates need to carefully study the admission plan of each university and the specific regulations of each university on admission conditions based on the results of the competency assessment test of Hanoi National University of Education. The results of the competency assessment test are only valid for admission to full-time university programs in the 2025 enrollment year.

The content of the exams corresponds to the content of high school subjects and exams; in accordance with the 2018 General Education Program and the teaching, testing and assessment orientation of the Ministry of Education and Training .

The exam combines multiple-choice and essay questions with appropriate scoring scales according to the structure of each test; assessing the level of understanding of core knowledge and the ability to reason, analyze, evaluate, problem solve and be creative.

Candidates take the test directly in the examination room, answering questions by filling in the multiple-choice answer sheet and writing on the test paper.

Candidates can register for the following subjects: Mathematics, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography and use the exam results to register for admission to regular university training programs according to the requirements of each university. Each university stipulates different numbers and combinations of exam subjects to obtain exam results and consider admission to training programs. Therefore, candidates need to carefully study the admission plan of each school to register for the correct and sufficient number of exam subjects, in accordance with their admission wishes.

Notably, from 2026, the Competency Assessment exam is expected to add the following subjects: Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, and Technology.

Hanoi National University of Education announced that the 2025 competency assessment exam scores are expected to be announced before June 15. Candidates can check their exam scores via the university's Admissions Portal and receive their exam result certificates directly at the university or by post. They will then submit the certificates to the higher education institution that uses the exam results for admission.

For partner universities, Hanoi National University of Education provides an information system account to proactively look up or download transcripts of candidates who have registered for admission to each school. In addition, the school also sends results as requested by higher education institutions in hard copies signed and stamped by official dispatch.

In addition, the test score data of the competency assessment exam will be updated to the general admission support system of the Ministry of Education and Training, helping higher education institutions easily connect data for admission consideration.
