AI Challenge is a contest hosted by the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City National University, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Education and Training, the City Youth Union, the City Informatics Association (HCA), and the Center for Youth Science and Technology Development.
The final round of the competition took place at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.
After more than 3 months of implementation, the contest has attracted more than 3,000 contestants who are students studying in Ho Chi Minh City to register to participate. After qualifying rounds, 340 contestants with the best results were selected to the final round.
According to Mr. Vo Minh Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, the contest aims to create opportunities for contestants in the field of AI to test new data query solutions. Through that, they will seek and develop quality human resources for the information technology and AI industry. The application of the solutions of the teams to identify and analyze image data and surveillance videos contributes to improving the national security and defense capabilities of the country in general and the development of Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
Total prize value of the contest is more than 200 million VND
The server system used for submitting papers and grading online is DRES, which is in accordance with international standards.
In the final round, contestants use software and artificial intelligence tools built by their own teams to solve query problems in the data warehouse provided by the organizers.
The organizers require the teams to query in the form of Know-Item Search (search for pre-described objects) including text queries and image or video queries.
In particular, this year's competition also has Professor Cathal Gurrin - founder of the world Lifelog Search Challenge, participating in the expert council. The competition is expected to announce the results and award prizes in November 2024.
