At the conference to summarize the Project "Training and fostering teachers and preschool education managers for the period 2018-2025" (Project 33) organized by the Ministry of Education and Training on October 30, Mr. Vu Minh Duc - Director of the Department of Teachers and Educational Managers ( Ministry of Education and Training ) said that in the period 2019-2025, Project 33 has created a clear change in the quality of preschool teachers and managers. Training and fostering work has been promoted to meet the requirements of innovation and digital transformation in education.
From 2018-2020, the project raised the qualifications of 257,790/347,895 teachers (reaching 74.1%, exceeding the target). In the 2021-2025 period, training will continue to be strongly implemented, aiming to standardize the team according to the 2019 Education Law, with 90.5% of preschool teachers achieving a college degree or higher.
Training programs are updated according to output standards and professional competencies, in accordance with the National Qualifications Framework and professional standards for preschool teachers and principals.
Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized: Preschool teachers are not only the ones who teach children to read, write or recognize the world around them, but are also the ones who sow the first seeds of personality for Vietnamese people.
Representatives of the Departments of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Long and Hai Phong said that the implementation of Project 33 in recent times has brought about many positive results, demonstrating the proactive and responsible spirit of preschool teachers at the grassroots level.
Many digital transformation application models in Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Vinh Long and other localities have demonstrated the effectiveness of training courses. These results show that, when given proper attention and conditions, preschool teachers can fully develop their capacity, creativity and complete assigned tasks well.
Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized that preschool education is a special level of education, where teachers not only teach but also care for and nurture children in the early stages of personality formation. Therefore, raising awareness of the position and role of preschool teachers is the first and most important requirement. He believes that the profession of preschool teacher is not simply a profession to make a living but must be seen as a mission, requiring those in the profession to truly love children, have a kind heart and the ability to control their emotions under pressure.
From that awareness, the Deputy Minister suggested that there should be specific and practical policies to attract talented people to the industry, while ensuring preferential treatment so that teachers can work with peace of mind.
