Nationwide, 1,025,000 candidates registered for the high school graduation exam, about 24,000 more than last year.
As of 5 p.m. on May 13, the Ministry of Education and Training 's Exam Management System had locked the exam registration function after 10 days of opening. According to the Ministry's statistics, more than 976,800 12th graders had successfully registered, with more than 48,300 independent candidates.
Of these, more than 917,700 students will use their exam results to both graduate and apply for university admission. The number of candidates who only take the exam to graduate from high school is more than 73,200. The number of candidates who only take the exam to apply for university admission is more than 34,200.
The 2023 high school graduation exam will take place on June 28-29. Grade 12 students must take four exams to be considered for graduation. Of which, three are independent exams including Math, Literature, Foreign Language; one of two combined exams is Natural Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Science (History, Geography, Civic Education for general education ; or History, Geography for continuing education ).
Currently, the Ministry of Education and Training has not announced the number of candidates choosing the combined exam of Natural Sciences and Social Sciences.
High school graduation exam schedule 2023.
According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, units will complete the review, verification, and editing of candidates' information by May 28. Candidates will receive the 2023 high school graduation exam notice no later than June 18.
The announcement of the 2023 high school graduation exam results is expected to be at 8:00 a.m. on July 18. Candidates can use the graduation exam results to register for university admission from July 10 to 5:00 p.m. on July 30.
