Not a remake, Mang Me Di Bo was developed entirely from the original script, with Korean filmmakers painstakingly researching and drawing inspiration from the people, lifestyle, and culture of Vietnam. The crew hopes to create a Vietnamese-Korean cooperative film that is close and friendly to the audience.

Director Mo Hong-jin shared: “I came to Vietnam for the first time in 2022, after the film Prisoner's Last Wish 2037 was released here. And right then, I started to have feelings for this beautiful country. As a lover of family films, I always wanted to tell a warm and humane story in Vietnam.”
The title of the film Mang Me Di Bo arouses curiosity, expressing the psychological conflict between love and responsibility of a child in the process of taking care of an elderly mother. At the same time, it raises the question: "When love becomes a burden, what will you decide?". The first poster is shown with bright colored strokes, containing many hidden meanings surrounding the "shocking" title of the film.
On the poster, Hong Dao appears as a mother in a wheelchair, next to Tuan Tran as a caring son. This is also the reunion of the two after the success of Mai - the highest-grossing Vietnamese film to date (520 billion VND).
Juliet Bao Ngoc and Jung Il-woo appear as a happy young couple, while a yellow doodle suggests more metaphorical details.
Besides the names of talented Vietnamese actors, Jung Il-woo is a rare Korean actor to participate in this collaborative film. The male actor is affectionately called "Vietnamese son-in-law" by Vietnamese audiences after a series of famous films: Family is Number 1 , 49 Days , The Moon Embracing the Sun ,...
Jung Il-woo said that as soon as he read the script, he really wanted to participate in this work. “We will really bring a quality film that you will not regret watching,” Jung Il-woo affirmed.

In this co-production project, on the Korean side, Motive Pictures Company participated as screenwriter, director, and producer; on the Vietnamese side, Anh Teu Studio and Sate Entertainment participated as co-producers, script consultants - adding elements of Vietnamese culture and consulting on actor selection.
The film is scheduled to premiere in Vietnam from August 1.
