Cooperation in developing high quality human resources for the tourism industry

On September 22, Dong A University and Nam Hoi An Development Company Limited (Hoiana Resort) held a signing ceremony for cooperation in training, career guidance and recruitment of students of Dong A University.

The cooperation agreement is the basis for Hoiana and Dong A University to coordinate in organizing seminars, career orientation, internship programs and career positions at Hoiana for students in the Tourism and Languages group in the period of 2023 - 2025.

Along with the roadmap for receiving students for professional internships each year at the unit is the priority for official recruitment after graduation. In particular, in 2023, the employment program for students majoring in Languages and Tourism at Dong A University in Hoiana will be launched with a recruitment demand of 200-300 employees. In the following years, it is expected to increase the number of employees needed to recruit up to 400-500 people per year.

Hoiana also gives priority to local students with excellent academic records for the resort’s Management Trainee Training programs. In addition, it will receive international students sent from Dong A University’s connection with international partners to intern in the company’s departments.

At the signing ceremony, Hoiana also set aside a scholarship fund of up to 50 million VND to award 10 scholarships (each worth 5 million VND) to Quang Nam students who have overcome difficult circumstances and strived to achieve excellent academic and training results studying at Dong A University.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Steven Wolstenholme - Chairman and CEO of Hoiana said: This signing will create a foundation for comprehensive cooperation between the two parties in the field of training and recruitment, contributing to supplementing high-quality human resources for the tourism industry in the region, especially for new industries and occupations in the Vietnamese labor market. In particular, recruiting and developing local human resources is one of the factors that Hoiana prioritizes in the goal of building projects in parallel with the community, aiming for sustainable and long-term development.

On behalf of the leadership of Dong A University, Mr. Luong Minh Sam - Chairman of the University Council said: "Cooperation with Hoiana not only helps students of all majors of Dong A University improve their professional practice skills, create a better level of work readiness, and contribute to the quality of service for the unit; but also aims to jointly train human resources to serve Hoiana and the tourism industry of Quang Nam province."

After signing, more than 50 students majoring in Languages and Tourism at Dong A University visited the actual job positions at Hoiana and listened to the sharing and career orientation in the tourism field from Hoiana's department heads.

Previously, the 2023 Annual Job Fair organized by Dong A University right before the Graduation Ceremony attracted more than 50 businesses to sign cooperation agreements and interview students for 2,511 recruitment positions, more than 3,000 registrations and direct applications. It is known that, along with more than 300 domestic business partners, the current cooperation model on training programs, internships and work between the school and international partners, typically Japan, is highly appreciated for its effectiveness in developing professional and career skills for students in all majors. It is expected that each year, Dong A University will send 300-500 students to Japan for internships and work in all majors./.
