BSR promotes science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation

On February 12, 2025, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) held the first meeting of the Steering Committee and the Implementation Team for science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation of BSR.

Attending the event were comrade Bui Ngoc Duong - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors; comrade Nguyen Viet Thang - Deputy Party Committee Secretary, General Director of BSR and comrades in the Standing Committee, Board of Directors, Board of Directors, members of the Steering Committee and the Implementation Team for science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation of BSR.

Comrade Bui Ngoc Duong - Party Secretary, Chairman of BSR Board of Directors, Head of Steering Committee spoke at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Bui Ngoc Duong - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BSR said: In order to thoroughly grasp Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation (S&T, STI and CĐS); along with Resolutions, directions and orientations of all levels on the development of S&T, STI and CĐS; as well as Resolution 951-NQ/ĐU of Petrovietnam on breakthroughs in science and technology development, STI and CĐS, creating new momentum, improving labor productivity, competitiveness to make a breakthrough, grow at a "double-digit" rate; BSR Company also recognizes that this is an era of breakthroughs in innovation and digital transformation activities and promoting the development of science and technology to help BSR make a breakthrough in many fields and accelerate development.

BSR's Innovation work will be vigorously implemented with specific action programs, strategies and plans, going into substance. Innovation culture will be the main driving force for BSR to make breakthroughs and develop sustainably in the coming time. Innovation culture and digital transformation will be spread to all employees with appropriate mechanisms and policies to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of BSR's team of talented experts and engineers.

The upcoming task of the Steering Committee and the Implementation Team for the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation of BSR is to develop the Strategy for Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation based on the Resolutions and guidelines of the Government and the Oil and Gas Group on Innovation. The Innovation Strategy will focus on the areas of Effective Innovation to maximize the exploitation of existing assets and resources, Breakthrough and Sustainable Innovation to create new products, contributing to revenue growth, Smart Innovation focusing on digital transformation, applying artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data. In parallel with proactively implementing Innovation, BSR will continue to closely follow the goals of developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation of the Government and Petrovietnam to adjust and update promptly, in line with the general development orientation of the whole industry.

Speaking at the meeting, BSR General Director Nguyen Viet Thang also frankly pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of the science and technology development program, innovation, and digital transformation at BSR. From there, BSR needs to propose implementation methods, deployment solutions, and remove difficulties and challenges during the implementation process. In the application work, it is necessary to deeply apply AI to energy, fuel, inventory, ship dispatching, and financial management.

The meeting announced the Decision to establish the Steering Committee and the Implementation Team for the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation of BSR; Disseminate, thoroughly grasp and implement Resolution 951 of Petrovietnam.

Accordingly, the Steering Committee consists of 16 comrades; Comrade Bui Ngoc Duong - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BSR is the Head of the Steering Committee and Comrade Nguyen Viet Thang - Deputy Party Secretary, General Director of BSR is the Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; The implementation team consists of 20 comrades who are managers and experts with professional qualifications and experience in different fields.

Also at the meeting, the Implementation Team presented the draft "Strategy for Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation" of Petrovietnam and the draft "Program and plan for implementing Innovation" of BSR.
